Supplier Diversity
McCain Foods USA has developed a Supplier Diversity Program that will allow
us to develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers who are as
motivated as we are in providing the best to our customers. We want to work with
a diverse supplier base who can offer us creative and innovative products,
systems and processes. We will continue to accelerate our efforts to afford
certified minority and women business enterprises the opportunity to effectively
compete and participate in the procurement process.
The development and expansion of business relationships with Minority and
Women Business Enterprises (MBE/WBEs) are sound business practices that when
utilized correctly, are mutually beneficial to all parties involved. Minority
and Women business development stimulates the economic development of a key
segment of our population and benefits the entire community.
McCain Foods USA maintains a strong mix of certified minority-owned and
women-owned businesses within our supplier base.
Our Commitment
McCain Foods USA is committed to honesty, fairness and integrity in all of its
business relationships. This commitment has created a purpose and value system
that motivates us to bring products, services and innovative solutions to our
customers that sets us apart from our competition.
Who Qualifies
To be considered as a diverse supplier, your business must be at least 51
percent owned, controlled, and managed by a person (or persons) of minority
descent. Minorities include African Americans, Asian Indian Americans, Asian
Pacific Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans (this includes
Eskimos, Aleuts, and Native Hawaiians). For women-owned businesses, your
business must be at least 51 percent owned, controlled, and managed by a woman.
McCain Foods requires that suppliers provide certification of their minority
status through one of the 39 regional minority purchasing council affiliates of
the National Minority Supplier Development Council. For women-owned businesses,
certification is required by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
Other certifications may be considered. McCain requires proof of such
certification as a condition of doing business.
