Rice Lake is a thriving community of 8,000 in beautiful Northwest Wisconsin. The roots of the Rice Lake plant go back more than three quarters of a century to a company known as Grobben Brothers, Milwaukee’s leading purveyor of fresh fish and seafood.

Purchased by the late W.S. Moore in 1922, the company continued as Grobben Brothers until 1956, when the name was changed to Moore’s Seafood Products, Inc. McCain purchased this facility from Ore Ida in 1997.

The Rice Lake plant is the premier onion ring facility in the nation. It's 300 employees are known for their strong work ethic, high productivity, and willingness to take on new challenges. Products are made under the McCain, Moores, Brew City, Golden Crisp, and private labels, primarily for the foodservice business. Types of onion rings produced include raw breaded, battered, and extruded.
